4 days later it hit Lousiana as a category 4 storm.

Most of the damage wasn’t done by the storm itself,
but by its breaching the levee.
Most of the city was flooded by water from the Lake Pontchartrain.

1300 people died and the damage done was over 100 billion $.

The area destroyed by Katrina was almost the size of the United Kingdom.
